Product Recall: Reser's Chicken Salad

Product Recall: Reser's Chicken Salad

St. Louis, October 4 2019- In response to a voluntary product recall by Reser's Fine Foods, Inc., Dierbergs Markets has removed the following product from its shelves because of the possibility of contamination with Listeria monocytogenes:

Reser's Chicken Salad, 12 oz.
UPC: 71117-19008
Use By Dates: 09/30/2019 to 10/31/2019

The recall was initiated following notification from supplier Tip Top Poultry Inc. of an ingredient recall due to multiple samples of chicken produced by the company testing positive for the presence of Listeria monocytogenes. While no illnesses or adverse health effects resulting from this product have been reported to date, Listeria monocytogenes is an organism that can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Although healthy individuals may suffer only short-term symptoms such as high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea, Listeria infection can cause miscarriages and stillbirths among pregnant women.

Customers who have purchased any of the recalled product are urged not to consume it and return it to Dierbergs for a full refund. Consumers with further questions or concerns may contact Reser's Help Line at 888-257-7913 Monday through Friday between the hours of 5 a.m. and 5 p.m. PST.
