We provide on-the-job training to help new Associates acquire the skills to be successful in their new positions, including food safety training for our food-handling Associates to ensure the quality of our products. We also provide Extra Step customer service training to support our philosophy of exceeding customer expectations. Our commitment to the ongoing education of our Associates is critical to job satisfaction as well as ensuring we provide a pleasant shopping experience to our customers.

Career Development Center
We established the Career Development Center (CDC) to assess an Associate's management skills and abilities. The CDC employs an assessment process for individuals interested in being promoted to management positions or for Associates who want to be more effective in their current positions. This process identifies areas of strength as well as developmental needs in six core competencies.
