Smoky Two-Potato Gratin


2 pounds Yukon gold potatoes, peeled and thinly sliced
2 pounds sweet potatoes, peeled and thinly sliced
8 ounces smoked cheese (gouda or mozzarella), shredded (about 2 cups)
1½ cups heavy whipping cream
¾ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon ground white pepper
Dash ground nutmeg
1½ cups herb seasoned stuffing mix
3 tablespoons Dierbergs butter, melted


In large bowl, combine potato slices. Arrange half of the slices in 9 x 13-inch baking dish that has been coated with no-stick cooking spray; top with half the cheese. Repeat with remaining potato slices and cheese.

In 2-cup glass measure, combine cream, salt, pepper, and nutmeg; pour over potatoes. Cover and bake in 400°F. oven until potatoes are almost tender, about 45 to 50 minutes.

In medium bowl, combine stuffing mix and butter. Sprinkle over potatoes. Bake uncovered until potatoes are tender and lightly browned, about 5 minutes. Let stand 10 minutes before serving.
