Chocolate Dipped Strawberries View Video
It's hard to beat a perfectly ripe strawberry...unless it's covered with rich, creamy chocolate, of course!1 pound strawberries
1 bag (12 ounces) semisweet chocolate chips
2 tablespoons solid vegetable shortening
1/3 cup white baking chips
1 teaspoon solid vegetable shortening Wipe berries with damp cloth, leaving stems attached. Place semisweet chips and the 2 tablespoons shortening in 2-cup glass measure. Microwave (high) for 2 minutes. Let stand 2 minutes; stir until chocolate is melted and smooth. Holding stem of berry, dip berry in melted chocolate to coat, shaking off excess. Place on waxed paper until chocolate is set, about 20 minutes. Place white chips and the 1 teaspoon shortening in small freezer-weight reclosable plastic bag; seal bag. Immerse bag in bowl of very hot water until melted; wipe bag dry. Knead chips in bag until completely smooth. Snip off one corner of bag to make small hole. Drizzle over berries. Store in refrigerator up to 2 days. (Leftover chocolate can be remelted and used for dipping other fruits, pound cake, and pretzels.)
