Statement from Dierbergs Markets regarding a positive COVID-19 Associate diagnosis at the Warson Woods location

For Immediate Release: April 1, 2020

Dierbergs has received confirmation of positive tests from two Associates at our Warson Woods store. Neither Associate has been in the store since Friday, March 27th. After an independent review of best practices and guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the St. Louis County Department of Public Health, ), Dierbergs quickly engaged with a professional cleaning firm for a disinfection-level deep cleaning of the entire store. Dierbergs has communicated with the affected Associates and they report they are doing better while quarantined at home. We greatly empathize with them and are hoping for a quick and full recovery. Due to HIPPA and ADA regulations, we are unable to disclose information about the individuals that would threaten their rights to privacy. These Associates are eligible for Leave Support Pay.

Earlier today, Dierbergs notified Associates at this store and continue to provide them with important safety reminders from the CDC. Associates who have worked in close proximity to an individual who tested positive may be asked to self-quarantine in accordance with advice from local health officials. The store is open for business; and in addition to maintaining increased daily efforts to clean and sanitize the store, we will continue to provide our community with the highest level of customer service and accessible products.

While Dierbergs feels like we are doing our very best to keep our stores sanitized during this crisis, customers should always exercise an abundance of caution when in public settings, like washing their hands before and after leaving the store, and avoiding touching their faces while in store. We also ask that customers do not visit the store if they are exhibiting symptoms of a fever above 100.4, shortness of breath, or cough.

As the COVID-19 situation quickly evolves, we will continue to prioritize best practices and procedures. Our top priority is to ensure the safety of both our Associates and our Customers.
