Protective measures are key.
  • Each day, we utilize advanced cleaning technology to sanitize common touchpoints throughout the store, such as carts and door handles. As an added precaution, customers should use the cart wipes in the entryways of our stores prior to touching any cart or basket handle.
  • Social distancing is still very much an appropriate practice – keep a 6 foot distance from the nearest person in line and in the aisles. By limiting the number of people you bring with you to the store, you’re positively contributing to this effort.
  • We are requiring a face covering in all of our stores. Covering your face and nose with a CDC-recommended face covering and avoiding touching your face is an important and documented way to protect others.
  • We also ask that customers thoroughly sanitize your hands before entering the store and ask that you do not visit us in person if you are exhibiting symptoms of a fever above 100.4, shortness of breath, or cough. In instances you are unable to shop in person, having Dierbergs groceries delivered fresh through Shipt is a great alternative.

We follow the highest standards for safety.
  • We take an active role in providing our Associates preventative steps to protect themselves and others. We take this very seriously and consider this an ongoing education requirement.
  • Each day, our Associates undergo a health and safety verification process prior to the start of work, and again after returning from lunch breaks.
  • If an Associate reports symptoms commonly associated with COVID-19, they are not permitted to return to work until symptoms have cleared and they are deemed safe to work.
  • When informed of a positive COVID-19 case, our Associates are notified, and our store teams promptly take action with additional and thorough sanitizing efforts in all areas the Associate may have had contact. We use all available guidance from the St. Louis County Health Department, OSHA and the CDC to safely continue operating our stores.

We must work together to stop the spread of this virus.
While we’ve stepped up our efforts, every individual plays a role. Anyone entering a public business at this time needs to take proactive and protective measures. With that said, Dierbergs, nor any other essential business, is immune to the spread of COVID-19. As time goes on, beyond notification to our stores, it will be increasingly challenging to provide updates regarding each occurrence as positive tests become more widespread. Additionally, the CDC reports the virus can also be spread by asymptomatic individuals, who have the virus but are not experiencing any symptoms, making it even more challenging to detect.

As the COVID-19 situation quickly evolves, we will continue to prioritize best practices and procedures. Our top priority is to ensure the safety of both our Associates and our Customers.

Thank you for your patience, your kindness and your understanding.
