“At Rootberry, we love food” says Founder and President Marc Connor. “Our goal with Rootberry was to create really delicious foods that are good for you. If you love food, there is something for everyone.” Rootberry wants to make eating plant-based as easy as it is delicious: With Rootberry’s new frozen options, you are just a few short microwave minutes from enjoying globally inspired comfort food.
The Rootberry team, lovingly referred to as “the Rootberries,” is a lean mean team of just 6 people passionate about the work they do. “Everyone comes to the table with and with an opinion and a willingness to act, but most importantly, they care very deeply about what we’re doing,” says Marc.
While many businesses relocate to the large cities to start their businesses, Marc wanted to keep his business rooted in St. Louis. “This is home. I joke that if we can make it here in St. Louis, we can make it anywhere! The food that we make, we know there's a need, and we know that if we're successful here, then we can grow our business from Saint Louis to the coast.”
Since 2021, Rootberry has partnered with Dierbergs as an exclusive retail partner, launching first with fresh entrees and appetizers before transitioning to frozen. “Partnering with Dierbergs is like partnering with families – they look out for you. They have supported us, they have advised us, they've coached us and made us better, and that's what you're hoping for.”
