This recall is a result of a supplier's own recall of poultry products due to the possible contamination. Listeria monocytogenes is an organism that can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections although healthy individuals may suffer only short-term symptoms such as high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea. To date, however, there have been no reported illnesses associated with this recall.

Customers who have purchased any of these recalled products from Dierbergs are urged not to consume it and instead return it for a full refund.
