Grilled Italian Sausage with Little Italy Relish

Ingredients

  • ½ cup diced roasted red bell peppers
  • ½ cup finely diced tomato
  • ¼ cup finely diced celery
  • ¼ cup chopped green olives
  • ¼ cup chopped kalamata olives
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons Dierbergs olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon red wine vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon Italian herb seasoning
  • ⅛ teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 package (24 ounces) Dierbergs Signature Mild Italian Sausage Links
  • Dierbergs Bakery hot dog buns

Directions

FOR LITTLE ITALY RELISH: In small bowl, stir together all Relish ingredients until well mixed. Let stand at room temperature at least 1 hour to develop flavors. Relish may be covered and chilled up to 2 days.

 

FOR SAUSAGE: Place sausage links on oiled grid over medium heat; cover and grill turning links often until golden brown and internal temperature is 155°F., about 20 to 25 minutes.

 

TO SERVE: Place sausage on buns; top each with Relish.
